A recently opened fast food joint in ZH we finally got around to trying: Japanese-inspired menu, although the dishes are very much European-ised. The interior of the place (which is very centrally located) is modern and welcoming, a bit of cantine chic to go along with the modern Asian feel (it reminded us of mall-food places in Shanghai).

For starters we had chicken gyozas; not the best I’ve ever had, as the waitress took her time bringing them over to our table and they ended up being a bit more chewy than they should be. For main courses we chose “ginger chicken udon” (fried udon noodles with egg, chicken, ginger, garlic, onions) and “yasai chili men” (teppan noodles with red onions, vegetables and tofu in a chili sauce), the first dish being the better one. All dishes were between “ok” and “good”, although in general they were a bit bland and could have used that bit of extra spice.
Although they offer a variety of freshly made juices, we chose to go with tap water. When we requested that however, they offered us the “Wagamama” still water, which appeared to be tap water priced at 3.50 CHF per half litre. That, along with the service (a bit slow, not all that responsive even though there were only about a tenth of the tables taken) were the main downsides to this place. All in all a bit pricey (our total: 59.90 CHF) for what you get, but certainly a good place for a quick meal and probably not the unhealthiest either.
